“Carry One Another’s Burdens”

Did you ever notice how quickly and unconsciously your body responds to an injury? For example, you smash a finger on your left hand with a hammer and instantly your right hand grabs the injured finger. Why is that? It is natural for members of the same body to protect, help and comfort each other. As Paul teaches in the passage we are studying today, we all should bear one another’s burdens.

“Let’s Love One Another”

In John 13:35 Jesus said, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”  How much are we demonstrating the love of Christ to one another?  As I stated in last week’s message “There ought to be so much hugging, embracing, kissing, backslapping, and hand-shaking going on in the church that a visitor would think he/she is in a family reunion.”

“It’s All About Love”

Today we begin a new series entitled, “It’s All about Love.”  Throughout His ministry Jesus repeatedly emphasized the importance of loving God and loving one another.  As a matter of fact, He even stated that the one way that the world would be able to detect that we are His disciples, would be by our love for one another.  In this first message we “kick off” the series by studying, what  Jesus called, the greatest commandment.  If Jesus labeled it the greatest, then we most certainly should know what it says and pay close attention to it.
