The sole basis of our authority is the Bible,
composed of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. We
believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without
error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Verbal
inspiration refers to every word being God's, and plenary inspiration
means that all of Scripture is equally inspired.
Scripture, therefore,
speaks with the full authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds,
styles, and vocabularies of the human authors. We hold the Scriptures
to be infallible and inerrant. They have full and final supreme
authority on all matters of faith and conduct, and there are no other
writings similarly inspired by God. II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19-21
